PSHE
PSHE Intent
Our duty is to provide our learners with the skills and knowledge to navigate the wider world: building and valuing relationships, staying safe and fostering life values. Our PSHE curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of our learners and reflects our community context, preparing our learners to become courageous advocates of the present and future. Our curriculum, built upwards from EYFS, is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to make safe and informed decisions at every stage of their lives in an ever-changing world. Our programme centres on our school values and develops our learners’ understanding of what it means to be a resilient, ambitious, virtuous, empathetic citizen who values their place in the world, facilitated by quality texts centred on key historical movers and shapers. Our PSHE curriculum covers the statutory content within relationship and sex education, financial and drug education and covers health and wellbeing through teaching the importance of physical activity, diet and lifestyle choices.
