Mangotsfield Primary School

Five Counties Teaching School Hub Alliance

The Department for Education recently announced the 87 new Teaching School Hubs that will be at the forefront of providing high quality professional development for all teachers in future.

We are delighted that Mangotsfield Church of England Primary School has been designated as the Lead School for the South Glos and Bath and North East Somerset. We will be working closely with the parallel Lead School for the Bristol and North Somerset and for Somerset, Montpellier High part of the Venturers Trust, to work collaboratively as three Teaching School Hubs under the name of the Five Counties Teaching School Hub Alliance (FCTSHA). We will work as a team together with some wonderfully talented and experienced local and regional partners to strategically deploy improvement and training across 700 schools in the five counties. We will work as a team together with some wonderfully talented and experienced local and regional partners to strategically deploy improvement and training across 712 schools in the five counties.

Our work will focus on the golden thread of teacher development through Initial Teacher Training, Early Teacher Career Development and Training and National Professional Qualifications for leaders at all stages of their career along with working with Curriculum Hubs and other key partners to design and deliver bespoke CPD which meets local needs. The vision and values of our TSHA are:

  • Collaboration
  • Partnership
  • Education
  • Excellence
  • Equity

For our work on both the Early Career Framework and the NPQs, we are partnering with Ambition Institute and the Educational Development Trust in order to give schools across the Five Counties a choice of provider. We are also working closely with ST Mary Redcliffe and Temple School who are delivery partners for the Church Of England NPQs to broaden the choice further.
