Five Counties Teaching School Hubs Alliance
The Department for Education has designated 87 Teaching School Hubs that will be at the forefront of providing high quality professional development for all teachers in future.
Mangotsfield Church of England Primary School has been designated as the Lead School for South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East Somerset.
We work closely with the parallel Lead Schools for Bristol and North Somerset and Somerset, to work collaboratively as three Teaching School Hubs under the name of the Five Counties Teaching School Hub Alliance (FCTSHA). We will work as a team together with some wonderfully talented and experienced local and regional partners to strategically deploy improvement and training across 700 schools in the five counties. As a team, together with some wonderfully talented and experienced local and regional partners, we strategically deploy improvement and training across 712 schools across the Southwest region.
Our work focuses on the golden thread of teacher development through Initial Teacher Training, Early Teacher Career Development and Training and National Professional Qualifications for leaders at all stages of their careers from entry to executive, along with working with Curriculum Hubs and other key partners to design and deliver bespoke CPD which meets local need.
Our alliance is values-led, being steered by our shared principles of:
- Collaboration
- Partnership
- Education for all
- Excellence, and
- Equity
For our work on both the Early Career Framework and the National Professional Qualifications, we are partnering with Ambition Institute and the Educational Development Trust in order to give schools across the Five Counties a choice of provider. We are also working closely with St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School who are delivery partners for the Church Of England NPQs to broaden the choice further.
