To mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, Central Government has announced that the May Day  Bank Holiday will move from Monday 4 May to Friday 8 May 2020.  In order to reflect this  change, the Council proposes an updated model of dates for the 2019/20 academic year.  The  updated model moved the bank holiday from 4 May to 8 May.  This change does not alter the  length of term 5 and all other dates remain unchanged.

Holiday Requests

From September 2013 a new amendment to education legislation came into force meaning that schools can no longer authorise holiday absence and are forced to use Penalty Notices if holidays are taken in term time. While I believe that our parents act in an entirely responsible way, I am left with no choice but to conform with this legislation. Please could you avoid planning any holidays in school time as I do not want to be put in the position of having to fine families.
